Beyond Pretty Maps: The RegenGIS QGIS Plugin is Now Publicly Available

For too long, the intersection of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and regenerative design has felt like two separate worlds. On one side, we have powerful spatial analysis tools capable of mapping complex ecological data. On the other, we have regenerative designers who need to make real, tangible choices about water flow, soil health, plant guilds, and ecosystem dynamics. Often, GIS is used in our field simply to produce nice-looking, static maps rather than to actively drive the design process.

That changes today.

We are thrilled to announce that the RegenGIS plugin for QGIS is now publicly available for everyone to download and use. It is built specifically for people working on food forests, agroforestry systems, and regenerative landscapes who want their mapping software to support real design decisions.

What is RegenGIS?

RegenGIS bridges the gap between spatial data and ecological design. Having the right tools is only half the equation; knowing how to leverage them effectively is the other.

To support practitioners in getting the most out of the plugin, a comprehensive course is currently in the making.
